On World Press Freedom day we celebrate freedom of speech and journalists. This year for the first time there will be a Global World Press Freedom Day conference held in the U.S. Why is it so important to celebrate this day, because freedom of speech is an important human right. Especially right now when all around the world freedom of speech is being taken away. This year more than last because of situations in some parts of the Middle East, Mexico and many other countries freedom of speech is been taken away. In many parts of the world there isn’t freedom of speech to be taken away. It’s so important to celebrate this day to honour all journalists who face physical abuse, verbal abuse, dangerous situations, detainment and even death. That is why we at teens view want to remind you to take this day to be thankful to those who work hard to bring us the truth.
