Portraits if Honour...

In 1970 Dave Sopha was involved in a car accident that left him seriously injured with a broken back. Whilst recovering he discovered his artistic talents, and from then since he has been an avid artist.
When hearing about the deaths of three Canadian soldiers due to a roadside bomb in December 2008, Dave became inspired to form some way to insure that these soldiers and all the others who lost their lives are remembered.
6500 hours of painting later, Dave has created a 3 metre by 12 metre mural dubded "Portraits of Honour" which includes the faces of all 156 members of the Canadian military (soldiers, sailors and air crew) who passed away in Afghanistan since 2001.
Today the mural was unveiled in it's specifically designed trailor, and has already scheduled more than 100 public viewings across Canada. Donations from these events will be given to Service club Kin Canada, in order to help the women and men of the Canadian military who come home physically or emotionally injured.
